A Yekaterinburg director has been accused of sexually harassing young actresses.
The director of the Yekaterinburg Center for Contemporary Dramaturgy (CSD), Anton Butakov, has been accused of sexual harassment. Several female employees from different theaters told the Telegram channel "Ostorozhno Novosti" about his advances.
According to the actresses, those who refused him sex were subjected to bullying — they were morally pressured and fined. The victims say that Butakov insisted on sex without contraception.
Anton Butakov commented on the situation on his page on VKontakte:
"These are about 'arrangements' and 'role assignments' in exchange for personal relationships. I want to emphasize: this is a complete fabrication and a malicious provocation. I fully understand where this situation is coming from. It is connected to a person or people with whom the theater decided to part ways, but who have held a grudge. Now this is turning into an attempt to discredit me and the theater," Butakov wrote.
Earlier in Yekaterinburg a swimming coach was sentenced to 12 years in a penal colony for the sexual abuse of a trainee.
