An inventory of property is underway at the Ura.ru editorial office in Yekaterinburg due to the arrest of the media outlet’s legal entity following a Prosecutor General’s Office suit related to the seizure of assets of Artem Bikov and Alexey Bobrov, representatives of the publication said, Kommersant‑Ural writes.
The founder of the Ura.ru agency is the “Sibersko‑Ural Media Company” named in the Prosecutor General’s suit. The beneficiaries of Sibersko‑Ural Media Company LLC are Elena Kuimova (75%) and Mikhail Vyugin (25%).
On Thursday, September 18, the legal entity behind Ura.ru — Sibersko‑Ural Media Company LLC — was placed under arrest in the Prosecutor General’s Office’s suit seeking the seizure of assets of businessmen Artem Bikov and Alexey Bobrov.
“In accordance with the law, an inventorying of property is currently underway,” Ura.ru commented on the situation. The bailiffs delivered the enforcement writ ordering the seizure of the founder’s property today to the agency’s Yekaterinburg office as well.
“The bailiffs came to notify management that the court has taken interim measures. These measures are not related to a ban on the editorial office’s activities, but prohibit the disposal of property. There is no ban on owning or using the property,” the agency’s lawyer Pavel Babikov told Kommersant‑Ural.
Recall that on September 10 the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a suit with the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg seeking the forfeiture to the state of housing and utilities assets belonging to Ural businessmen Artem Bikov and Alexey Bobrov. As interim measures, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation is seeking to freeze the assets.
In total, the claims list 80 companies and enterprises, RIA Novosti reported. The defendants in the suit are 14 individuals and 20 companies.
