The case concerning the attempted murder of a 13-year-old girl by a teenager near Verkhnyaya Pyshma cannot be brought to trial.

A court in Verkhnyaya Pyshma returned to the prosecutor’s office a criminal case on an attempted murder in which the accused is a minor. This was reported by the Unified Press Service of the Courts of the Sverdlovsk Region.

Recall that, according to the investigation, a young man brutally beat a schoolgirl who was later found with multiple injuries in a forest near the village of Mostovskoye.

The crime was committed in September last year. The teenager, who was 15 at the time, wanted to bludgeon the 13‑year‑old girl with a stone. The victim suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and a fracture of the hand.

As reported, the motive was the schoolgirl’s taunting of the accused. He decided to kill his tormentor when he encountered her alone in a field in the evening. After inflicting serious injuries on her, the teenager dragged the girl into the forest.

The criminal case was investigated under Part 3 of Article 30 and paragraph “v” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder of a minor).

In July the Verkhnepyshminsky City Court ruled to return the case to the prosecutor of Verkhnyaya Pyshma to remove obstacles to its consideration by the court. The prosecutor appealed that ruling.

“Today the Sverdlovsk Regional Court terminated the appellate proceedings in connection with the prosecutor’s withdrawal of the appellate submission,” the press service of the appellate instance said.
