Residents of the new buildings on Bluchera Street found themselves in a transport trap due to a change in the traffic scheme. This concerns the Bluchera–Studencheskaya intersection, where an additional plate had previously been attached to the "No entry" sign. It allowed two-way traffic on a short section of Studencheskaya Street and enabled drivers to quickly get onto the Bluchera service road leading to the residential complex.
Recently the plate was removed and the section became one-way again. Drivers were prohibited from turning right from Bluchera, leaving only the option to go straight. For residents this has meant long detours and hours-long traffic jams.
"For several years Studencheskaya retained two-way traffic precisely for the convenience of residents," local resident Ivan told E1.RU. "Now, to get home you have to drive to Raevsky, where there's always a jam, and then return via the service road, clogged with cars parked under no-parking signs. Sometimes drivers simply abandon their cars on the road and go into shops."
There are alternative routes, but they are much longer: a detour via Komsomolskaya or a loop via Raevsky and Kulibin, which increases the route by almost two kilometers. Motorists complain that sometimes it takes 15 minutes to cover the hundred meters to their home.
The administration explained that the temporary two-way scheme was implemented exclusively for construction machinery. After the works were completed, the traffic pattern was reverted to its previous mode.
Thus, the option convenient for residents turned out to be only a temporary measure. However, local drivers disagree: more than a hundred people are preparing an appeal to the mayor's office demanding the two-way section be reinstated. Their argument is simple — if the temporary scheme proved more effective, it should be made permanent, because "the city must be convenient for its residents."
