
Residents of Yekaterinburg will be banned from buying alcohol in the city center during winter.
Restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages are being introduced on the city's central streets during the winter period, including the New Year holidays. The corresponding decree was signed by Mayor Aleksey Orlov.
According to the document, from December 5, 2025 to February 23, 2026, from 10:00 to 23:00 alcohol will not be available for purchase within the area bounded by Vaynera, Anton Valek, 8 Marta and Lenin Avenue.
A separate ban is in effect from December 30 to January 18: during this time sales will be restricted from 08:00 to 23:00 in the area bounded by Malysheva, 8 Marta, Lenin Avenue and Pushkin.
Control over enforcement of the restrictions has been assigned to law enforcement agencies.
