Yekaterinburg residents are receiving huge utility bills because of faulty meters.
Residents of the Severnye Kvartaly residential complex on Stachek Street discovered oddities in the operation of their meters. Due to a malfunction, the meters were registering usage even when the utilities were not being used. A realtor representing a resident said that suspicions of incorrect operation arose last winter.
It turned out that the apartment owner had gone to the SVO, the heating in the apartment had been turned off, yet the heat meters were registering kW consumption.
— The malfunction was discovered by a plumber, who was surprised at how the meters were running. In May we submitted a request to the management company "Brusnika." A month later it turned out that the telemetry had been distorted because there was no grounding installed in the hallway, a source told EAN.
After that, other residents began contacting the management company "Brusnika." The management company promised to fix the grounding, but that did not affect the accuracy of the meters' operation.
— Our meter remains faulty. The nuance is that these meters are imported; "Brusnika" doesn't have any more of them. Right now the management company doesn't know. For now all responsible parties are shifting the blame onto each other, added the owner's representative.
Earlier it was reported that residents of a new building in Yekaterinburg received bills showing debts of several thousand.
