Yekaterinburg schoolchildren were targeted by scammers using a new scheme.
In Yekaterinburg, scammers have come up with a new fraud scheme. A message appears on Telegram from a "school medic." The fake doctor asks the child what their height and weight are — this information supposedly needs to be entered into the electronic medical record.
After that, an SMS with a code is sent to the student's phone number, which the "doctor" asks them to send. The screenshot shows an example of such a scam.
Remember that school medics never write to children or parents, and they certainly never ask for SMS codes.
Phone scammers have developed a new way to deceive Russians — now they call elderly people, pretending to be "clinic staff."
