In Yekaterinburg, the pace of road repairs may decrease sharply and significantly.
In the coming years, Yekaterinburg may face a slowdown in the pace of road repairs. This will happen if the city loses two key sources of funding — support from the regional budget and funds from the federal national project "Infrastructure for Life." This was reported at a meeting at the mayor's office by Tamara Blagodatkova, chair of the Committee for Improvement. Her words were reported by E1.RU.
"We see that the regional program does not provide financing, nor does the national project. We are, of course, working on this issue with the Ministry of Transport, but it is still unclear why such a shortfall has occurred," Blagodatkova said.
She summed up the road repairs for 2025 and outlined the risks for the future. According to her, from 2026 to 2030 Yekaterinburg will not receive funds from the regional budget for these purposes. Under the national project, the city will be allocated only one billion rubles in 2026 and 2030, and in the years between those dates funding will be completely halted.
In addition, the municipality's own funds will be reduced: if 425.6 million rubles were allocated for road repairs in 2025, starting in 2026 it is planned to allocate only 263 million annually. Under such conditions it will be impossible to carry out all the planned work.
Yekaterinburg's mayor, Aleksey Orlov, promised to discuss the situation with the governor and stressed that the volume of road repairs cannot be reduced.
"It is necessary to keep the roads in proper condition, so we will work with the regional government and look for all possible resources," Orlov said.
He also expressed confidence that the region will still support the city: "When the funds from the regional road fund are distributed, Yekaterinburg will definitely be taken into account. We see zero figures and, of course, are concerned, but the governor is keeping this issue under control," the city head emphasized.
