The woman injured in a concrete mixer accident died in the hospital.
In Yekaterinburg, 49-year-old Liya, who was injured on October 6 in an accident involving a cement mixer that occurred on October 6 on 2nd Novosibirskaya Street, has died. Her acquaintances informed E1.RU of her death, and the traffic police (GIBDD) confirmed the information.
According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, the accident occurred due to a violation of lane-change rules.
"The driver of the cement mixer, while changing from the right lane to the left, failed to yield to a Volvo and collided with it. The impact threw the Volvo into the oncoming lane, where it crashed into a Toyota RAV4," the traffic police said.
Liya was behind the wheel of the Toyota. The woman was driving in her lane when a foreign car flew into her vehicle at high speed.
According to acquaintances, in recent years Liya had devoted herself entirely to her family and to raising her daughter, who was in the car at the time of the accident.
"Her daughter graduated from music school and was involved in equestrian sports. Liya loved animals very much — she always had cats and dogs. She had been driving for many years, drove carefully, and never took risks," a friend of the deceased told the media.
