A migrant pimp was detained in Yekaterinburg.

The investigation into a criminal case against Sukhbatullo R., a native of Central Asia who is accused of organizing and recruiting women into prostitution, has been completed in Yekaterinburg. This was reported by Dmitry Chukreev, a member of the Public Chamber of the Sverdlovsk Region.

According to him, recently part of the illegal prostitution market in Yekaterinburg has come under the control of migrants; however, as Chukreev noted, "the very first pimp they caught — Sukhbatullo R. — was brought to trial."

Investigators have charged the man under Part 1 of Article 240 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Involvement in prostitution or coercion to continue prostitution") and Part 1 of Article 241 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Organization of prostitution").

For committing these crimes, the defendant could face up to five years' imprisonment.
