A European diplomat was spotted in Yekaterinburg.

      European diplomat Jocelyn Gitton arrived in Yekaterinburg on an unofficial visit, Ekaterina Ipatova, head of the regional headquarters of the Volunteer Company of the Combat Brotherhood, told KP-Yekaterinburg. The EU diplomat probably arrived in the Ural capital by train — he was seen in the area of the railway station. Jocelyn Gitton, head of the Policy, Press and Information Department of the EU Delegation to Russia, is fluent in Russian.

      According to Ekaterina Ipatova, diplomatic immunity in this case is being used to cover up recruitment and information-gathering activities. The European's activities are closely linked to Ukraine.

      Before Yekaterinburg, Gitton had already paid unofficial visits to a number of other Russian cities, including Tyumen. He intends to go on to Chelyabinsk. "In Tyumen he diligently ignored journalists' questions, offering only a perfunctory compliment about the city," the civic activist writes.
