Since 2020 the indicator of physician availability in the Middle Urals has fallen even further: from 1.6 to 1.4. At the moment Sverdlovsk Oblast ranks 85th out of 86 possible places in Russia. According to these data, only Kaluga Oblast has a worse provision of basic medical personnel than Sverdlovsk Oblast.
Among the leaders, in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Magadan Oblast there are 14.5 pediatricians per 10,000 child population. Those regions also have the highest provision of ambulance feldshers, reports the EAN publication.
Earlier, Yekaterinburg residents complained about a shortage of doctors. At the same time the Minister of Health explained why Yekaterinburg is experiencing a deficit of medical personnel.
