Ural confectioners gave Evgeni Plushenko a royal cake for his birthday.
Ural confectioners Marina and Maksim Sinitsky baked a birthday cake in the shape of an ice throne for Olympic figure skating champion Evgeni Plushenko. The unusual sweet gift is reported by 74.RU.
Confectioners Marina and Maksim Sinitsky are originally from Chelyabinsk; they now create huge cakes for "stars" in Moscow.
They presented the throne cake on November 3 in Saint Petersburg after the ice show "Sleeping Beauty" featuring renowned skaters Alexandra Trusova, Anna Shcherbakova, Evgenia Medvedeva and the birthday man himself, who turned 43 on Monday. The show also features both sons of Evgeni Plushenko and Yana Rudkovskaya — Alexander and Arseny.
The cake was presented to Evgeni Plushenko by a team of nine confectioners and producer Roman Sultanov, who is also a former resident of Chelyabinsk. "The concept of a throne-shaped cake was conceived from the start because the production is 'Sleeping Beauty,' and Evgeni Plushenko performs the role of the king," Roman Sultanov told 74.RU.
Plushenko thanked everyone for the congratulations on his social media.
