False information about a wave of hoax bomb threats in Russian cities is being spread online, the Anti-Terrorism Commission of the Sverdlovsk Region reports.
"After the tragic incident in Krasnogorsk, the enemy attempted to push a new fake. On social networks provocateurs are reporting an alleged wave of hoax bomb threats involving various household items. The aim of this provocation is to intimidate citizens and sow fear," reports the Telegram channel "Antiterror Ural."
"We urge everyone to be vigilant and not to fall for provocations. Do not trust dubious sources and always double-check information. Read the basic safety rules when discovering unattended items and do not spread false information in messengers and social networks. Remember that criminal and administrative liability has been established for spreading fakes," the statement says.
