Kiosks will be returned to the streets of Yekaterinburg.
In Yekaterinburg, kiosks installed in courtyards are planned to be moved to city streets due to numerous complaints from residents. There are currently more than 700 such kiosks. This was reported by the head of the Department of Consumer Market and Services of the mayor’s office, Maksim Chaplygin, URA.RU writes.
According to Chaplygin, the goal is to transfer trade pavilions located on third-party land into the official city scheme, if possible. He noted that residents are actively expressing dissatisfaction with the courtyard kiosks, since their installation was not approved by them.
At the beginning of 2025, there were about 1,700 non-stationary retail outlets in Yekaterinburg. The two-year lease term had expired for 1,422 of them, and city authorities did not renew the contracts because the kiosks were improperly placed. This led to a mass dismantling of non-stationary outlets, and then to dissatisfaction among entrepreneurs and residents. Later, the Yekaterinburg prosecutor’s office said that the mass demolition of kiosks in the city was unjustified. The head of Yekaterinburg convened a working group to return the kiosks to the streets.
