After extensive repairs in Sverdlovsk Oblast, traffic on the bridge over the Iset was reopened.

After a major overhaul, traffic across the bridge over the Iset River at the 35th kilometer of the Sysert–Chasovaya highway has reopened. This was reported by the region’s governor, Denis Pasler.

The old structure was in a critical condition, so it was effectively rebuilt from scratch. Road services are currently continuing to reinforce the slopes, carry out reclamation of the adjacent land, and next up is the dismantling of the temporary bridge and the bypass road that were used during the works. Nevertheless, the new bridge is already fully ready for safe vehicle traffic, including heavy vehicles, as well as pedestrians.

The bridge, built in 1968, was renovated as part of a comprehensive modernization of the Sysert–Chasovaya highway, which is part of the backbone road network of Sverdlovsk Oblast. It is of great importance to residents of the historic settlements — the villages of Maminskoe and Isetskoe, and the settlement of Leninsky, providing them with connections to the region’s main highways.

It is planned that by 2027 the repairs will be fully completed, and the road will become more comfortable and safer for all road users.
