The subsistence minimum in Sverdlovsk Oblast has increased.
From January 1, 2026, the subsistence minimum in the Sverdlovsk Region was increased by 6.8%. The corresponding decree was adopted by the regional government, the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region (DIP) reported.
On average, the subsistence minimum reached 18,750 rubles per month. DIP said that the size of the subsistence minimum is a key indicator when assigning federal and regional supplements to the pensions of citizens who are not engaged in employment. Its increase will entail a revision of the amounts of monthly payments for children under three years of age, as well as allowances for the birth and subsequent upbringing of a child. The amounts of subsidies for housing and communal services for low-income families are also expected to increase.
Thus, in 2026 the Sverdlovsk Region has set a new subsistence minimum: for the working-age population it will be 20,438 rubles, for pensioners — 16,125 rubles, for children — 18,188 rubles. As a result, the figure for working-age residents increased by 1,302 rubles, for pensioners — by 1,027 rubles, for children — by 1,159 rubles compared with last year’s values.
