An explosion destroyed the boiler house in the settlement of Teplaya Gora in Perm Krai.
A gas explosion occurred in a boiler house in the settlement of Teplyaya Gora in Perm Krai, Governor Dmitry Makhonin reported.
The incident occurred on the night of January 5, URA.RU reports. "As a result of the accident, 38 houses, kindergarten No. 37 and the settlement's secondary school were left without heating," the Gornozavodsky district emergency dispatch service said.
There was no fire, an eyewitness told the publication "KP-Perm." The blast wave shattered the windows of neighboring houses and threw a female boiler operator into a snowdrift from the doorway; she had been trying to enter to check the sensors.
The Perm Krai branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that the boiler house building collapsed as a result of the incident; none of the staff were injured.
"In the settlement of Teplyaya Gora in the Gornozavodsky district a gas-air mixture explosion occurred in the boiler house, as a result of which equipment was rendered inoperative. The deputy minister of housing and communal services for the Perm region is currently working on-site. Rospotrebnadzor is monitoring the temperature regime in residential premises — currently the houses are at about 20 degrees," Makhonin wrote today, January 5, on Telegram.
Heaters are ready to be distributed to residents, and a temporary accommodation point has also been set up in the neighboring settlement of Promysla.
Currently residents of the settlement are being provided with heating appliances; three stationary warming centers with capacity for 294 people have been set up, URA.RU reports.
To assist residents, an air-mobile group of rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will deploy mobile warming points.
"Thirty-eight residential houses with a population of 1,366 people and five socially significant facilities remain without heat. An air-mobile group — 15 people and two units of equipment — has been sent to provide assistance. Rescuers will deploy five mobile warming points with a capacity of up to 30 people each," the Perm Krai branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
