A large Ural enterprise has announced mass layoffs.
The Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine officially announced mass layoffs due to a decrease in the loading of production capacities. This was reported in a statement by the company's CEO, Pavel Shilyaev.
He noted that the loading of the enterprise has decreased to 60%. The management of the combine is halting the implementation of the investment program and is taking out of operation the underloaded production units. Thus, at the beginning of March, the Chertinskaya-Koksovaya mine "MMK-Coal" was stopped for conservation. As a result, the management decided that the number of managerial personnel at all levels of MMK will be reduced by 10%.
— The hiring of personnel in the MMK group has been suspended, except for graduates of specialized educational institutions. In certain divisions, we are transitioning to work on alternative five-shift schedules. Workers of retirement age, on whom we relied in conditions of staff shortages, have been offered the right to retire, Shilyaev is quoted by the publication EAN.
Earlier, we reported that mass layoffs have reached Sverdlovsk's RZD.
