Mass poisoning among vacationers at a children's camp occurred in the Sverdlovsk region.
An outbreak of acute intestinal infection among children occurred at the "Isetsky Zori" camp near Kamensk-Uralsky. The outbreak is already being investigated by sanitary doctors.
"According to the results of laboratory tests, the causative agent of the infection has been identified as norovirus type 1," reports the Rospotrebnadzor Administration for the Sverdlovsk region in MAX. As of Wednesday evening, 14 cases of illness have been registered.
Children are being evacuated from the camp, and the shift has been suspended early. "Medical monitoring has been established for the children in contact, at their place of residence. The situation is under control," the supervisory agency's statement says.
Rospotrebnadzor specialists are checking compliance with sanitary legislation in the camp, collecting samples of food products, disinfectants, and swabs from surfaces, and examining the staff.
