The Ordzhonikidze District Court of Yekaterinburg has sentenced a resident of Uralmash for causing fatal injuries to his neighbor. He intervened on behalf of the victim's cohabitant, resulting in the victim's death from the injuries.
The conflict that ended with the victim's death occurred on December 10, 2025, between 16:00 and 19:39, the Sverdlovsk region prosecutor's office reported on Thursday. The accused, a local resident born in 1973, was at his home on Suvorovsky Lane in Yekaterinburg. A neighbor from another room came to him for help—her cohabitant had kicked her out of the house after she washed his cat in the washing machine, which led to the animal's death.
The accused, along with the neighbor, went to the room where the victim was located. During the conflict, he beat the man with his hands and feet, striking him in the head, neck, torso, and limbs.
As a result of the injuries, the victim died on the spot shortly thereafter. According to forensic examinations, the injuries inflicted on the victim were classified by experts as causing serious harm to health.
The man was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of serious harm to health resulting in the victim's death through negligence).
The man fully admitted his guilt. Today, April 2, 2026, the court sentenced him to 9 years of imprisonment in a special regime colony.
