The founder of the Middle Ural Monastery, former schemamonk Sergius (Nikolai Romanov)* has been recognized as a terrorist and extremist. This is evidenced by information from the Rosfinmonitoring.
Recall that in April 2020, the schemamonk spoke out against COVID restrictions. His sermons criticizing the country's leadership and Patriarch Kirill were published on social media. At the end of 2020, law enforcement detained the former schemamonk in a criminal case that had been initiated against him in Moscow. On the night of April 14, 2021, bailiffs, with the support of the National Guard, removed the residents and nuns from the territory of the monastery, reports the EAN publication.
