In Yekaterinburg, athlete and participant of the world's first Dyatlov Pass race Denis Voron has passed away. He died on April 13, just two days shy of his 44th birthday. In recent years, he worked as a coach at a fitness club and led groups on hikes.
The organizers of the tourist route "Great Ural Trail" reported his death. According to colleagues, Denis was a master of sports in Russia in cross-country skiing and biathlon, a champion of Russia in cross-country skiing, and a winner of the Russian Cup in biathlon, as well as a prizewinner of the Russian Cup in mountain running.
According to relatives, the athlete had problems with thrombosis. Denis is survived by his mother and adult daughter, reports the publication "KP-Yekaterinburg."
Earlier, an expert on the Dyatlov case commented on the death of the group of tourists in the Perm region.
