The court arrested a marginal in Yekaterinburg who killed a man in the yard on Malysheva.

      In Yekaterinburg last week, a measure of restraint was chosen for the accused in a brazen murder, reports the channel "Courts of the Sverdlovsk Region" on MAX.

      On Thursday, April 23, the Kirov District Court considered the investigator's petition for the selection of a measure of restraint for Mikhail Lekhanov. The 23-year-old is accused of murdering a 34-year-old man whom he did not know before (part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

      The murder was committed on the night of April 20 in the yard of a house on Malysheva Street, 146.

      During the conflict, Lekhanov was struck by the victim, after which he went for a kitchen knife, returned, and stabbed him in the chest. The man died on the spot from the knife wound.

      "Did it make you feel better? Why did you kill him?" - the father of the victim addressed his son's murderer after the court session.

      The accused fully admitted his guilt. According to the investigation, he was drunk at the time of the crime, reports "Channel Four."

      During the court session, it became known that Mikhail Lekhanov had been convicted multiple times before (two convictions for theft and an unexpunged conviction for drugs) and leads an antisocial lifestyle. Over the past year, he has been brought to administrative responsibility 12 times.

      Mikhail grew up in a dysfunctional family. Both of his parents died in turn from alcoholism, a resident of Aramil, who knew the defendant since childhood, told "Channel Four."

      "He was a good, kind, and bright child: he took care of the goats, cleaned, cooked. It's very sad. Everything could have turned out differently, but the child grew up by himself, surviving. After the army, he didn't meet people who would help him with words and deeds, who would set him on the right path," the interlocutor told "Channel Four."

      The accused has been remanded in custody for two months, until June 19, 2026.
