The UAV developer assembled a non-functional drone from foreign parts for 10 million rubles from the state budget.
The Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office is demanding through the court the return of 10 million rubles in state subsidies from a company in Tyumen that committed to create a prototype of a UAV. However, the prototype turned out to be assembled from foreign components, reports "Ъ-Ural."
The company "Yermak Industries" received funds in 2024 from the Department of Investment Policy of the Tyumen Region following a competition within the framework of the national project "Unmanned Aerial Systems." Under the terms of the agreement, "Yermak Industries" committed to create and provide a prototype of the UAV by January 2026.
An inspection conducted by the prosecutor's office during the development stage showed that the drone was assembled exclusively from foreign components, and its technical basis was an already existing foreign development. Later, during acceptance tests, the drone crashed during takeoff, failing to accomplish any of the assigned tasks, writes "Ъ-Ural."
Upon learning of this, regional authorities unilaterally terminated the agreement with the company. Recently, the Arbitration Court of the Tyumen Region, at the request of the prosecutor's office, froze the accounts of "Yermak Industries" for the amount of the claim (10 million rubles) as a precautionary measure.
According to the service kartoteka.ru, LLC "Yermak Industries" was established in 2021. It is engaged in technical developments. The company has a total of eight founders, among whom the Moscow LLC "Arkona" is listed as a beneficiary.
