Yekaterinburg residents were informed about how to take shelter during a UAV threat.
In Yekaterinburg, a meeting was held with representatives of management companies dedicated to preparing premises for sheltering residents in case of a drone attack threat.
According to Russian legislation, management companies are required to maintain the premises designated for temporary shelter in proper condition. Such spaces must be dry, clean, equipped with lighting and ventilation. Flooding, clutter, and obstruction of premises are unacceptable.
At the same time, the decision on additional equipment for shelters is made by the residents themselves at general meetings. Owners can determine the need for furniture installation, formation of water supplies, medications, and other means, as well as choose the source of funding.
Management companies and homeowners' associations were also reminded of their obligation to place notices in stairwells with information about temporary shelters. These should indicate the addresses of basement premises or underground spaces suitable for use as shelters, access procedures, and the location of key storage.
At the meeting, representatives from several management companies shared decisions already made regarding access organization. Among the proposed options are the installation of magnetic locks with key transfer to the senior residents of the stairwells or all tenants, as well as placing safes with keys at the entrance. Access codes in case of danger are planned to be communicated through general chat groups and stored with responsible residents.
Residents were also reminded that in case of refusal by the management company or homeowners' association to provide access to underground premises or in the event of improper maintenance of shelters, residents have the right to file a complaint with the State Housing Inspection, Rospotrebnadzor, or the prosecutor's office.
