A cyclist died near Pervouralsk due to the fault of a drunk driver without a license, reports the EAN agency.
The accident occurred at the 329th kilometer of the Achiit-Yekaterinburg highway, as reported by the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region.
The victim of the accident was a 77-year-old pensioner riding a bicycle. The man died at the scene. The driver of the Honda who hit him fled the scene of the accident, but was quickly located. He turned out to be a 25-year-old man without a driver's license.
During the examination, the citizen was found to be in a state of intoxication, with a result of 1.455 mg/l of ethanol vapors in the exhaled air, writes EAN.
The driver admitted that he was going to the store for a new supply of alcohol.
The accident occurred, according to him, due to a delayed reaction, and he fled because he was in shock from what had happened.
The question of choosing a preventive measure for the driver is currently being resolved, reports the "Pervouralsk News" channel in MAX.
