Symptom of an imminent resignation? The first vice-rector of UrFU lost access to state secrets.
The acting first vice-rector for economics and strategic development of UrFU, Daniil Sandler, has not had his access to state secrets of the second degree extended. Experts interpret this as a symptom that Sandler will soon leave his position, a competent source told 66.RU.
State secrets of the second degree include classified information. Access to it is required by the acting first vice-rector for economics and strategic development of UrFU to perform his official duties, writes 66.RU.
The non-extension of access to state secrets is part of the reorganization and optimization being carried out by UrFU rector Ilya Obabkov. Earlier, several of Sandler's colleagues lost their positions in the rectorate.
According to a source from 66.RU, after Sandler's resignation (if it happens), a new vice-rector will not be sought, and his functions will be redistributed among the remaining staff. However, other sources at the portal doubt that such an important position can be eliminated.
Expectations of Daniil Sandler's imminent resignation are also heightened by earlier reports of a criminal case regarding abuse of office. Investigative actions were conducted in the offices of former UrFU president Viktor Koksharov, first vice-rector Daniil Sandler, and chief accountant Gavriil Agarov. In addition, law enforcement is investigating a criminal case of fraud related to a scientific development for the needs of "Rosatom," with state subsidies allocated for these purposes.
