For mass tourism, a dozen and a half countries remain available to Russians.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) has published an updated list of countries where Russians can book tours. Formally, direct flights are available to 32 countries. However, the possibility of purchasing package tours is limited to only fifteen destinations, reports "FederalPress."
Compared to the winter season of 2025-2026, the route network has shrunk by almost 25%: while there were 43 countries in winter, today there are 34.
"Some destinations have disappeared due to seasonality, fuel and geopolitical factors, as well as restrictions related to the Middle Eastern crisis," ATOR explained.
Direct flights are still available to the following countries: Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Vietnam, Hong Kong (a special administrative region of China - note from Uralweb.ru), Georgia, Egypt, Israel, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, China, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Morocco, Mongolia, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia.
However, as ATOR notes, for more or less mass tourism in June 2026, no more than fifteen countries are realistically accessible on direct flights from Russia. It is unlikely that anyone will decide to go on vacation to Afghanistan and Iraq on their own. Additionally, the sale of package tours to Israel, Iran, Qatar, UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia has been banned since March of this year.
The backbone of destinations still consists of Turkey, Egypt, and Thailand. To these, one can add Vietnam, Maldives, China, and - provided that flights to Colombo are restored - Sri Lanka.
"Everything else is the domain of independent travelers who are willing to apply for visas and book accommodation through foreign services, many of which are unavailable in Russia," writes "FederalPress."
