Forward Stefan Da Costa of Avtomobilist is leaving the Yekaterinburg hockey club. The contract with the 36-year-old player has been terminated by mutual agreement, according to the official website of HC.
The French forward has been playing in the KHL since 2014. He spent a total of six seasons with the Yekaterinburg club (starting from the 2021/22 season), repeatedly becoming the team's top scorer and participating in the All-Star Games.
The athlete's contract with Avtomobilist was set to last until May 31, 2027, notes KP-Yekaterinburg. The club paid the player the compensation due in accordance with the regulations.
"We thank Stefan for his bright play and wish him further success in his sports career and in life!" says the farewell message from the Yekaterinburg club.
In the jersey of the "drivers," Da Costa played 368 matches, scored 112 goals, provided 203 assists, and rightfully enjoyed the love of the fans, the club notes.
According to 66.RU, Da Costa was the highest-paid player of Avtomobilist. The portal also reminds that this year the club was unable to pass the first round of the Gagarin Cup playoffs.
