The "Baikal" aircraft from UZGA made a test flight.
The Baikal aircraft successfully completed a test flight with measuring equipment, reports the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
The test flight of the Russian light multipurpose aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" with the VK-800 engine and AV-901 propeller was conducted at the airfield of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA), according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's channel at MAKS.
The tests were carried out to assess the performance of the aircraft's systems and units after the completion of ground frequency tests.
"The flight took place at an altitude of 300 m, with a flight time of 15 minutes. The power plant is operational. There are no remarks, everything went according to the flight plan," said test pilot Alexey Yazynin from JSC "UZGA."
The Ministry of Industry and Trade called the successful completion of the aircraft's test flights a significant event for the entire aviation industry in Russia.
"We see that all systems are operating in normal mode, and the domestic power plant demonstrates high reliability. This allows us to confidently move towards certification and serial production, which is especially important for the development of regional transportation and increasing transport accessibility in the country," said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Gennady Abramenkov.
Recall that a year ago, Russian media reported that the development of the aircraft had "hit a dead end" and that its production would not take place. Later, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, who disclosed this information, stated that the aircraft would be refined after correcting the calculation errors and would be brought out of the "dead end."
