The city of Serov is headed by Alexander Vovyakov, reports the EAN agency. The decision was made at a meeting of the local Duma.
In the position of mayor of Serov, Vovyakov replaced Vasily Sizikov, who was removed from office by court decision due to violations found by the prosecutor's office in his income declaration.
Previously, Alexander Vovyakov held the position of deputy to Sizikov on social issues. Since January 2026, he has worked as the acting head of Serov.
The new mayor is a native of Serov. Born in 1986, he graduated from the Ural State Pedagogical University with a degree in "Physical Culture," reports "FederalPress."
He began his career in public service in 2007 as a specialist in the committee for physical culture, sports, and youth policy, later heading the latter (renamed by that time to the committee for physical culture, sports, and tourism).
