A pensioner from Novosibirsk has been arrested by the Kushva City Court for attempting to sell a large batch of drugs, the press service of the Sverdlovsk region courts reported on Monday.
According to the investigation, 64-year-old Boris Sobolev, a resident of Novosibirsk region and a pensioner who works part-time in private freight transportation, arrived in the Sverdlovsk region to set up hideouts and make "drops" with prohibited substances.
Last Friday, June 12, he attempted to place a large batch of drugs in the hideouts. During his arrest, more than 19 kilograms of narcotic substances were seized from him.
Boris Sobolev has been charged under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted illegal sale of drugs in especially large quantities").
The Kushva City Court has chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention for the 64-year-old defendant until August 11. The court's ruling can be appealed within 3 days.
