June 16, 2026 Yekaterinburg resident Yakov Shusharin was convicted of a hooligan attack on a teenager on the ski slope of the "Uktus" complex, committed by the defendant in January of this year.
As established during the investigation and trial, on January 17, 2026, the defendant Yakov Shusharin, born in 1987, was with his wife and child on the ski slope of the sports and entertainment complex "Uktus."
At some point, the family, skiing, stopped at the foot of the mountain, where the defendant's wife was accidentally knocked down by a 13-year-old teenager on a snow scooter.
Using this as a pretext, without clarifying the circumstances of the incident, Shusharin intentionally and grossly violated public order, in the presence of third parties, inflicted at least 11 blows with his hand to the body and head of the minor, accompanying his actions with threats of violence and obscene language, according to a statement from the regional prosecutor's office.
As a result of the defendant's intentional actions, the teenager sustained a closed head injury, including a concussion, skin contusion, hematoma in the right temporal area, fracture of the right nasal bone, abrasions, soft tissue swelling in the area of the bridge of the nose, soft tissue swelling in the frontal area on the right, and swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal conchae with impaired nasal breathing.
The man was found guilty under paragraph "a" of part 1 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism, with the use of violence and threats of its use against citizens), subparagraphs "b" and "d" of part 2 of article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate harm to health, committed against a minor, from hooligan motives).
"During the court proceedings, the defendant did not admit his guilt, asking the court to acquit him. The defendant insisted that he was in a state of affect, defending his family. However, the totality of the evidence presented was sufficient for a guilty verdict," the press service of the Sverdlovsk region courts reported.
Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, based on the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the Chkalovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg today, June 16, sentenced Yakov Shusharin to 4.5 years in a settlement colony. In addition, the court ordered the convicted person to pay 400,000 rubles in compensation for moral damages to the victim. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed by the parties within 15 days.
