In Yekaterinburg, the construction of a high-rise building in Botanika has been canceled.

      The administration of Yekaterinburg and the developer "Botanika Green House by Baden Family" (part of the "Baden-Baden" group) have agreed to abandon the implementation of the residential complex project in the Botanichesky microdistrict. This was reported by the first deputy mayor of the city, Rustam Galyamov, to "Signal Ural."

      According to Galyamov, the decision was the result of a series of negotiations between the city hall and the developer, during which the authorities assessed the urban planning potential of the area and took into account the position of the residents.

      "We analyzed the urban planning potential of this area considering the opinions of the residents and concluded that this land is much more suitable for use as a public space. Moreover, we are considering it as a promising site for the placement of a social infrastructure facility," he noted.

      The conflict over the plot near the Botanical Garden arose in 2025. Residents of the microdistrict opposed the infill development, pointing to the lack of schools and kindergartens, as well as potential risks to the boundaries of the specially protected natural area. They recorded an appeal to the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin. After that, an inspection was organized, and the situation came under the control of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
