      Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Yekaterinburg are establishing the circumstances of the death of an electric scooter driver as a result of a traffic accident. The accident occurred on Wednesday, August 5, at 16:10 on Shcherbakova Street, 145 "v", as reported by the propaganda department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Yekaterinburg. According to preliminary data, the driver of a Honda car, traveling from Lyzhnikov Street towards Karavannaya Street, collided with the electric scooter driver, who crossed the roadway from left to right in the visibility zone of the pedestrian crossing at an unspecified location.

      As a result of the traffic accident, the electric scooter driver, a 39-year-old local resident, sustained injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene.

      The car driver, a 32-year-old man with 14 years of driving experience, explained that he did not notice the scooter rider, applied emergency braking, but could not avoid the collision.

      The condition of the car driver at the time of the accident will be established during a medical examination at a medical facility.

      An investigation into the traffic accident has been initiated. The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that crossing the roadway on individual mobility devices is prohibited. To cross the road, it is necessary to dismount and cross the roadway at designated locations, ensuring safety. According to statistics from the Sverdlovsk State Traffic Inspectorate, the number of electric scooter driver fatalities in the region increased fivefold in 2025 compared to the previous year.
