Former UrFU professor Elena Trubina has passed away in the USA.

      Doctor of Philosophy, former professor of the Department of Philosophy at Ural Federal University Elena Trubina passed away in the USA. This was reported to "KP-Ekaterinburg" by her former students.

      At UrFU, Elena Trubina taught until 2022. She moved to North Carolina through an exchange program.

      On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the age of 69, she died in the USA due to a prolonged illness.

      — Elena Germanovna was a scholar of international scale and felt equally comfortable both in her native Yekaterinburg and abroad — in France, in Latin America, and in recent years in the USA, — shared with "KP-Ekaterinburg" former student of the professor Ivan.

      Elena Germanovna Trubina was born in 1957 in Nizhnyaya Salda, graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Ural State University named after A.M. Gorky, where she began teaching herself in 1984.

      In 1997, Elena Germanovna received the title of Doctor of Philosophy, and in 1998 — Professor. She was also awarded the title of Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation.

      She mainly specialized in social philosophy, urban studies, cultural and gender studies. She was the author of five monographs and many scientific publications.

      Throughout her life, Elena Germanovna managed to work at the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sverdlovsk Mining Institute, as well as abroad. The professor taught in Seattle, interned and lectured at Harvard, Florence, Vienna, Budapest, and Berlin.
