In Koltsovo, a batch of shirts and ties was "turned back" that was not declared by a passenger from Turkey.
A commercial batch of clothing and accessories — more than 100 men's shirts and 50 ties — was discovered in the luggage of a passenger from Istanbul by inspectors at the Koltsovo Airport (passenger) customs post, reports the press service of the Ural Customs Administration.
The passenger did not fill out a customs declaration for the goods. At the same time, as the owner of the goods explained, he is an individual entrepreneur, and the items are intended for sale.
He estimated the total value of the shirts and ties to be approximately 120-130 thousand rubles.
An administrative offense case was initiated against the individual entrepreneur under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Russia (non-declaration of goods), which provides for a fine of up to double the value of the goods.
"Based on the quantity and assortment of goods, as well as the passenger's own words, the inspectors concluded that the shirts and ties are a commercial batch of goods. Commercial batches must be declared, which the passenger did not do," explained the head of the Koltsovo Airport (passenger) customs post, Sergey Borovik.
"Ignorance of the law does not exempt from responsibility," he emphasized.
The specific amount of the fine will be determined by the court. By declaring the shirts and ties, paying the fine, and the necessary customs duties, the entrepreneur will be able to retrieve the goods.
