The "Chief Azerbaijani" of Yekaterinburg officially declared wanted
Today at 15:15, the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, Shahin Shyklinski, was declared wanted.
According to the official database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the basis for the search is a criminal article, reports "KP-Yekaterinburg." The specific article of the Criminal Code is not specified.
Sources interviewed by "K" did not rule out that law enforcement agencies might consider Shahin Shyklinski a leader of an ethnic group, reports "Kommersant-Ural." According to a law enforcement source, members of the group engaged in various illegal activities—including organizing prostitution and distributing pornography, as well as drug trafficking.
The son of the organization "Azerbaijan – Ural," Muvaly Shyklinski, remains in custody on charges of using violence against a law enforcement officer (Part 1, Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It is recalled that security forces detained Shahin Shyklinski and his son Muvaly, who, as the media reported, works as a driver and lawyer for his father, on July 1 near the "Baku Plaza" shopping center in Yekaterinburg. Muvaly was behind the wheel of a Mercedes SUV. During the forceful arrest, the driver reversed, causing one of the special forces officers to be thrown to the ground by the open car door. The preliminary version suggests that Shahin ordered his son to drive.
Operations to detain members of the Shyklinski family preceded the arrests of a dozen members of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, suspected of murders. During a sweep conducted on June 27, two suspects died. This triggered a serious crisis in Azerbaijani-Russian relations.
After questioning at the Investigative Committee, both Shyklinskis were released. However, on July 16, the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg put Muvaly Shyklinski into custody. It was reported that Shyklinski senior had taken refuge in the Azerbaijani embassy in Moscow. Later, Shahin Shyklinski told Azerbaijani media that influential Azerbaijani billionaire Ilham Ragiyev helped him leave the Investigative Committee building.
