The city called Gelendzhik isn't the right one. A woman from Yekaterinburg found out whether the two cities are similar
Over the past few years, during the summer, Yekaterinburg has been jokingly called "Gelendzhik" because of entertainment vendors on Plotinka. A journalist from E1.RU went to Gelendzhik for a vacation to see for herself if there is any resemblance between the two cities.
As local SMM editor Anna Makushina found out on the spot, in Gelendzhik, entertainment is concentrated in a specialized park rather than scattered along the embankment. "It's convenient that everything is in one place. Then you leave the park and stroll without hassle," writes the journalist in her column on E1.RU’s website.
On the streets of Gelendzhik, she was pleasantly surprised by the large number of patrol cars. Law enforcement officers keep an eye on scooter riders, prevent drunk driving, and curb other drunken antics.
"Cossacks also help keep order, especially in the evening, when they become quite numerous," Anna notes.
Additionally, she did not see any of her acquaintances resembling homeless people dancing to live music in Vayner in Yekaterinburg.
"Yekaterinburg is literally famous for its community of homeless people who light up in the city center," the Yekaterinburg woman sarcastically remarks. Street musicians in Gelendzhik add charm rather than create additional chaos, she adds.
According to Anna, she will no longer call Yekaterinburg a "branch of Gelendzhik." "It doesn't deserve that," the girl concludes.
