The wife of Sverdlovsk's vice-governor was suspected of aiding the Armed Forces of Ukraine through her hotel in Montenegro.
Irina, the wife of Sverdlovsk Oblast vice‑governor Oleg Chemezov, rejected reports that servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had undergone rehabilitation at a hotel she owns in Montenegro. According to Irina Chemezova, the hotel complex does indeed belong to her, but it has long been put up for sale.
According to the Mash Telegram channel, several companies in Montenegro are registered to Chemezova, including XANADU CLUB, which owns the 4-star Xanadu hotel in Herceg Novi on the Adriatic coast. The managers were women originally from Ukraine.
"I do not employ a person who supports the Ukrainian Armed Forces; my hotel has not entered into contracts with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Naturally, it did not provide any rehabilitation services to Ukrainian servicemen," Irina Chemezova wrote on her Telegram channel.
"The hotel in Montenegro has long been for sale; there is confirmation of this on the Internet, from where the photos were taken. I have long intended to sell it, but so far I have not been able to."
The Ural Mash Telegram channel writes that, according to realtors, the hotel has been for sale for about eight years. It was relaunched in May 2022, adds the UralLive Telegram channel.
In 2024 its manager became Elena Basulina, a native of Donetsk, who in 2022 had used a photo with the Ukrainian flag as her social media avatar.
Interest in the Chemezov family's property arose after Oleg Chemezov's accounts were frozen following a lawsuit by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office. The vice‑governor is a defendant; his wife has been brought into the lawsuit as a third party, reports E1.RU.
