A swamp buggy carrying passengers overturned on the Kushva–Kedrovka road because of a man who had been drinking.
The accident occurred on Friday, September 19. A homemade swamp buggy with two passengers, driven by a man born in 1968, overturned, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region reports.
Three people were injured in the incident: the driver himself and two passengers, both born in 1979. All were hospitalized in the Kushva hospital with injuries of varying severity.
During procedural actions it was established that after the accident and before the completion of the sobriety examination the driver consumed alcoholic beverages, which is prohibited by clause 2.7 of the Russian traffic rules.
An administrative case has been drawn up against the driver under Part 3 of Article 12.27 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (Failure to fulfill duties in connection with a road traffic accident — note: Uralweb). It provides for a fine of 45,000 rubles and disqualification from driving for up to two years.
At the same time, proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 12.24 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation — for causing bodily harm of moderate severity.
