      After the collision the bus driver limited his actions to calling an ambulance, assessing the pedestrian’s condition as satisfactory and failing to report the incident to the police.

      Having not properly documented the accident, the driver left the scene. The injured man was taken to City Hospital No. 4, where he received medical care and was released. The next day, September 30, the injured pedestrian died at his home.

      Preliminary data indicate the death resulted from injuries sustained in the accident.

      At present, investigators from the police investigative department are establishing all details of the incident. The driver who concealed the fact of the accident has already been identified. The question of initiating a criminal case is under consideration.

      The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds: in the event of an accident it is necessary to immediately stop the vehicle, switch on the hazard lights, place a warning triangle and report the incident to the police.
