The Kirovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg on Friday, October 3, heard a civil case brought by the Rospotrebnadzor Office for the Sverdlovsk Region seeking recovery of moral damages for poisoning in a school canteen.

The suit was filed by Rospotrebnadzor on behalf of M.A. Likhacheva and her minor son against LLC "Public Catering", which had a contract to provide catering services for students of the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center (SUNC) of UrFU.

The court found that the norovirus, which on March 12 of this year infected several dozen SUNC students, spread due to violations by employees of LLC "Public Catering" of sanitary and epidemiological regulations and their job duties, the court’s press service reported.

The Kirovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg granted the claims in full, ordering the organization to pay the mother, as the legal representative, moral damages in the amount of 100,000 rubles. The decision has not yet entered into force.
