According to meteorologist Alexey Pulin, an Arctic air mass will spread across Sverdlovsk Oblast from the eastern side of an anticyclone strengthening over the Polar Urals and northern European Russia. The cold masses will also penetrate the Southern Urals, where the shifting cyclone “Lothar” will bring precipitation: rain in the south of Chelyabinsk Oblast and snow in the central part.

“There will be virtually no daytime warming; temperatures will fall during the day, and by evening most districts of the oblast are expected to be between -2 and -7°C. Clearings will begin in the northern half of the oblast, which will lead to additional cooling of the near-surface air layers,” the expert noted.
