Two people were killed in a terrible crash on the Sverdlovsk highway.
On the Yekaterinburg–Shadrinsk–Kurgan highway, at the 94th kilometer, a serious traffic accident involving three cars occurred. A Daewoo Nexia, a VAZ-2111 and a Niva collided, resulting in two deaths and three people injured.
According to preliminary data from the traffic police (GIBDD), a 68-year-old driver of the Daewoo Nexia from Kurgan Oblast and a 44-year-old resident of Kamensky District who was driving the VAZ-2111 died at the scene.
Three passengers were injured, including two minors. A child who was riding in the Nexia without a child seat and a young passenger of the VAZ-2111 were hospitalized. All the injured have been taken to hospitals where they are receiving medical care.
Traffic police officers and an investigative team are working at the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incident. Traffic is being managed with alternating one-way flow, and an investigation into the crash has been opened.
The case has been taken under the control of the Sverdlovsk Oblast prosecutor’s office.
