In Yekaterinburg, the former DOSAAF dormitory on Voivodina Street has officially been stripped of its status as a cultural heritage site.
The Department of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Sverdlovsk Region has revoked the monument status of the building of the former DOSAAF dormitory (Voevodina 6) in Yekaterinburg, reports URA.RU.
The corresponding order dated December 1 was signed by the head of the department, Yevgeny Ryabinin.
"To declare null and void the order of the Department of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Sverdlovsk Region dated 01.08.2024 No. 489 'On the inclusion of the object "Dormitory building of the Defense House complex", […] possessing characteristics of a cultural heritage object'," the document reads.
In August 2024 the former DOSAAF dormitory was added to the list of cultural heritage sites, writes URA.RU.
This spring there were reports that the building's protected status had been lifted, but TEN Development (the building's owner) stated that it did not intend to demolish it.
