A Sverdlovsk resident will be refunded the money he gave to scammers.
The Talitsky District Prosecutor’s Office looked into a complaint from a resident of the settlement of Troitsky. The pensioner reported that he had fallen victim to fraudsters.
As it turned out, in January 2024 an unknown person, posing as a stock market investor, persuaded the man to transfer 340,000 rubles to someone else’s bank account. The money was received by a resident of Bashkortostan, the Sverdlovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office reports.
A criminal case has been opened on charges of fraud. The prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit seeking the return of the stolen funds. The Tuymazinsky Interdistrict Court granted the claim and ordered the account holder to return 340,000 rubles to the pensioner.
The enforcement of the court’s decision is being monitored by the prosecutor’s office.
