Telegram channel Ural Mash released a video showing what kind of European gloss could be put on Yekaterinburg if one takes into account some suggestions voiced by its (the Telegram channel’s) readers.
"Recently we asked how you would like to see the city," writes Ural Mash. "We show what Yekaterinburg would become if its residents' dreams finally came true."
Readers were invited to leave their comments about how they would like to see Vaynera pedestrian street, the former parking lot on 1905 Square and the Plotinka (the Historical Square).
According to residents who took part in the poll, what spoils the city center is: insufficient greenery ("There is very little greenery: lawns, vertical greening of house walls", "I want linden trees or maples in two rows along Tatischev Street"), "blaring music" on Vaynera, fights, "alkonauts", "ZERO GREENERY AND TRASH", as well as "strange benches" on 1905 Square and "broken tiles on the Plotinka".
It should be noted that city residents also wanted to rid the city of electric scooters and infill development. They suggested creating parks and squares on sites freed up after the demolition of dilapidated housing.
In the clip the center of Yekaterinburg was rid of all the mentioned shortcomings.
