A young woman fell ill after bathing outdoors in the freezing cold in a tub with grapefruit at bathhouses near Yekaterinburg.

      A young woman was hospitalized in Yekaterinburg after bathing in a tub at one of the bathhouse complexes, Telegram channel SHOT reports. She lost consciousness and began having seizures.

      According to SHOT, a large group was relaxing at a bathhouse complex near Yekaterinburg. The friends bathed in an outdoor tub with grapefruit in the freezing cold, and then went into the house. Suddenly one of the women felt unwell: her vision darkened, she lost consciousness, and seizures began.

      "I climbed out of the tub, went into the little house and felt unwell; my vision darkened, I sat down on a chair and passed out. Then I heard from afar that someone was shouting something at me, they were rinsing my face with cool water. I came to my senses; there was a hellish echo of my own words in my ears," the message the woman posted on social media reads, 4 Kanal reports.

      The woman was taken to the hospital, where they performed a CT scan of her brain and took blood. The patient's condition improved and she was sent home, with a recommendation to see a neurologist-epileptologist.

      Doctors warn that bathing in a tub in winter can be dangerous due to abrupt temperature changes.

      After emerging from hot water, the blood vessels do not have time to constrict, which leads to rapid fluctuations in blood pressure and a serious strain on the heart, SHOT writes.

      People with cardiovascular problems may suffer a heart attack. In healthy people the risk also increases when adverse factors combine: fatigue, dehydration, and alcohol.
